Recently we have been taking an interest in APB (All Points Bulletin) which is a new MMO due to be released sometime next year in March although this isn’t a definite release date. The basic concept of APB is Cops and robbers, there are two factions the Enforcements (cops) and the Criminals (robbers). 

The main objective from what I have gathered is to become famous, rich and powerful as fast as you can by any means possible. The following is from the APB website and sums up what you can do to advance through the game: “Players can pledge to criminal or enforcement organizations and receive missions or move through the environment choosing open world activities. For criminals; robbery, graffiti, arson and murder all add to notoriety. For enforcers; arresting criminals, preventing crimes and cleaning up the city all add to prestige. With a range of weapons and vehicles to choose from and multiple ways to be matched up with other players, this is the ultimate test of your skills.”

There will be, just like all MMOs, guilds although I think they’ll be called gangs, crews or whatever, in these gangs you will be able call for back up from your fellow comrade (rather than random players being called in), complete missions together, build a powerful force to oppose the other faction, begin wars with other enforcement gangs etc. In the first release there will be no player/guild housing but this suggests they may introduce this in later versions.

This post doesn’t give justice to APB and is only a brief description of APB offers to show our interest, so I recommend going to their website and reading up on what it’s all about. There they have pod casts which have some good information about the game and pod casts 9, 10, 11 and 12 have in game footage of how it all works which helped clear up a lot of the questions I had.

Also remember to sign up to the beta as you might be lucky enough to get a key! I will give another update sometime about any progress with APB or any new stuff.
